Meet The Trustee & Staff Teams

Established in 1999 we have a core team of 7 members of staff that operate across all areas of Warrington, as well as a board of trustees. We are part of a national organisation, but operate as an independent charity and raise all our own funds.

We have a team of trained volunteers, who offer support to families in their own homes for 3 hours a week.


Gwen Lightfoot, Chair, Lead on Data Protection and Health & Safety

I have been involved with Home Start Warrington since its inception in 1997. During this time, I have held many roles on the management committee and have also been involved with the work of Home Starts regionally and Home Start UK. During all this, the one thing that has always struck me is the passion from everyone involved.
I have worked in the voluntary sector in Warrington for over 20 years and now work regionally for a national charity.
I live in Warrington with my husband and have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter, all of whom at one time or another I’ve roped in to support Home Start!

Anne Fox, Vice Chair

I live in Warrington and have one daughter.
I worked initially as a primary school teacher and then in moved into the Education advisory service. I am now retired.
I am a Home Start volunteer as well as a Trustee.
I also volunteer at St Rocco’s Hospice and support refugees through Care UK.


Anne Bramhall, Trustee

I am a Mum of 2 grown up sons, and I live in Warrington.
I retired after 38 years full time working in the corporate world. Previous roles have included managing, motivating and supporting a large team of field based people and dealing with all HR issues surrounding them.
I am also currently volunteering at a school (as well as being a governor), in a prison and with Home-start as well as being Trustee for them.

Victoria Dale, Trustee

Victoria was co-opted at the November 2019 AGM, Victoria joins us with a background in Programme Management, Change Management and Planning and risk management.

Diana Grylls, Trustee with Safeguarding Lead

Diana Grylls was voted on to the Board at our November 2019 AGM.  Diana is also a home visit volunteer, and she has supported families since completing her training in January 2013.  Diana comes from a background as a Social Worker and her skills include General Nursing and Lecturing.  Child Protection and Safeguarding are of paramount importance to Diana and she will guide the Trustees well in this area.

Dennis Evans, Trustee/Treasurer

Dennis was voted on to the Trustee Board at the AGM on 12th October 2020.

Dennis had spent the last 42 years in the banking sector. He has also undertaken voluntary work at Barnado’s, Children in Need and the British Olympic Appeal.

After 15 months of retirement Dennis feels that he is ready to undertake charitable work and feels that Home-Start is a charity he wishes to contribute to.

Dennis’ main skills are in Finance and Fundraising.

Mark Bell, Trustee

Mark was voted on to the Committee at the AGM on 12th October 2020

Mark was looking at ways to help with Charities and helping others. Looking at learning more about how charities can better help people who are in need and also being involved more in the community.

Mark has Industry experience in the IT sector from his time working at AutoTrader and being a Director/IT Consultant for his own company MBE Consulting LTD. During his time at AutoTrader, he was part of the Wellbeing Guild and was heavily involved in improving the companies Wellbeing initiatives.

Mark was also able to participate in helping with the Christmas Party provided for the elderly last year at AutoTrader and Trinity House CRC. He also helped out with a local charity “Project Freedom” in migrating their site to a better solution which was cost-neutral for them and helped out in the shop.

Ellie Harrison, Scheme Manager

Ellie Harrison joined the team in February 2020 and is our Scheme Manager! Ellie’s previous role was as a Service Manager with NYAS and her main focus was developing and maintaining positive relationships with local authorities and partner agencies, contributing to operational plans, monitoring budgets and updating contract monitoring information. These skills will serve Ellie well in her new role with us!

Lucy Glover, Business Development Officer

Lucy is our Business Development Officer and she joined the team on 13th January 2020.  Lucy joins us from a varied background including; MD of an Estate Agency, Promotions & Agency Sale planner at Guardian Group and a PA in Granada TV, to name but a few. Her key roles will be to implement, monitor and report on the fundraising strategy, to prepare funding bids and to explore new areas of funding.


Louise Moran, Administration Officer

I’m delighted to have joined Home-Start Warrington as an Administration Officer, I have previously been a Home-Start Volunteer, a role I found hugely rewarding.

The last few years I have been working in a primary school as a Midday Assistant, but I have a background in Customer Service. I am looking forward to supporting Home-Start with the important work they do.

Eva Ross, Family Support Co-ordinator

I joined Home-Start in May 2017 as a Family Support Coordinator.
I have worked with children and families for the last 11 years in a variety of roles.
I am married with 2 children.

Tara Shaikh, Family Support Co-ordinator

I am married and have three adult children.
I worked as a Primary school teacher for many years.
I joined Home-Start at the end of July 2017 and am a Family Support Co-ordinator.
I enjoy walking and gardening in my spare time.


Leanne Smith, Finance Admin Assistant

Leanne is our Finance and Admin Assistant joined Home Start in November 2013.  Her previous roll was Managing Director of Ace Promotional Travel a Wholesale Holiday Company.  Leanne lives in Golborne with her Partner Matthew, her son Joseph, daughter Ayda and their dog Disco.


Rachel Richards, Outreach Worker

I joined Home-Start as a Home Visit Volunteer  in April 2010, after having my children and looking after my grandson.  I felt that I had a lot of experience around family life to be able to share with families that needed a little extra help and support. In July 2012, a paid position became available to join the staff team, as an Outreach Worker.  In my role, I work with families that need help quite quickly, before a volunteer can be placed. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
