We launched our latest funding initiative, ‘Support a Family’ on Tuesday 29th November at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. The aim of the initiative is to increase the level of corporate sponsorship. The focus is for companies to agree to support a family over a 12 month period and to cover the costs of that support. It currently costs £1,200 a year to provide the help and support a family needs to ensure their child’s development.
When a company signs up they are linked with a specific local family and will receive quarterly updates on the progress the family is making. In this way the company can see the direct benefit their funding is having on a families well-being.
A number of leading Warrington companies attended the breakfast event to launch of the ‘Support a Family’ initiative at the Halliwell Jones stadium.
The event was chaired by David Briggs MBE & KStJ, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire & MD of Dawsons Music with input from Kate Griffiths (Home- Start Warrington Scheme Manager) and Diane Nicholson, family support volunteer. Kate & Diane gave an outline on the charity’s work and how the families will directly benefit from the ‘Support a Family’ initiative.
Home-Start Warrington believes that every child deserves the best start in life and that this begins within the home. The financial support provided by local companies & businesses will enable Home-Start Warrington to build the capacity of local volunteers and help to directly support parents and carers through times of stress. This will empower families to grow in confidence, and that their children will receive the love and attention that they need to thrive.
Following the presentations, six companies signed up on the day and Home-Start Warrington is looking to build upon this great start to the initiative and looks forward to many more companies signing up.
